The Security for a Cause (the Contest) is open to legal nonprofit organizations registered in the United States and Canada and nominated by residents of the United States and Canada who are at least eighteen years old at the time of entry or legal entities/companies that are registered in the previously listed countries. Employees of Digital Watchdog® as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible. The contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Participation in the Contest constitutes entrants' full and unconditional agreement to acceptance of these Official Rules and the decision of Digital Watchdog (the Sponsor), which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these official rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.
The contest begins on July 6, 2022, and ends on or about August 12, 2022 (the contest period). Nominations are accepted between July 6, 2022, and August 12, 2022. Entries that are submitted before or after the contest period will be disqualified. Submissions will be accepted for the duration of the contest online only.
Online: visit our website (https://digital-watchdog.com/page/giveaway/) and follow the directions provided to fill out the entry information and submit it. Limit one entry per nonprofit organization for the duration of the contest period. Entries received from any organization or email address more than the stated limitations will be void. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
On or about August 17, 2022, the Sponsor will review applicants and select potential winners from among eligible entries received. Applicants will be narrowed to the final five (5) nonprofit entries and final selections will be made by selecting three (3) random applicants. The sponsor will announce the winners on August 17, 2022. If the potential winners cannot be contacted within five days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, the sponsor will select alternate winners in his/her place based upon backup potential candidates from the remaining non-winning, eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received.
The potential winners will be notified by email or phone. Each winning organization will be required to complete, electronically sign and submit a declaration of compliance within five days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, to claim the award/prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or fails to submit the declaration of compliance within the required time, the potential winner forfeits the prize. If a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner from among all remaining eligible entries. Prizes will be fulfilled approximately 4–8 weeks after the conclusion of the contest.
Three (3) security surveillance systems of 16 cameras and a recording system. The equivalent retail value of $12,000 each. (Acceptable installation conditions apply based on the sole discretion of the sponsor). The prize consists solely of the surveillance system, no cash value or substitutions will be awarded. Installation labor and cost are not included in the prize.
If the operation, security, or administration of the contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention, or other technical problem, or in the event the contest is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, the sponsor may in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these official rules or (b) terminate the contest and, in the event of termination, award the Prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. The sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these official rules or an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
By participating in the contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the sponsor, each of their respective parents, other companies associated with the contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of the prize including but limited to any technical errors associated with the contest. Entrant further agrees that in any case cause of action, the released party’s liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the contest, and in no event shall the entrant be entitled to receive attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in the corresponding state.
